I love this Luke guy….he is a wonderful man, father, husband, and American. And I am being dead serious….he is 100 times the man I will ever be.
However…I don't think he should automatically be gifted the chance to appear on the field and I have a problem with outsiders trying to get petitions going to ensure that he sees the field. There are plenty of other walk-ons who never get to see the field either. I am sure even Luke himself wouldn't want something that he has not earned, just for the purpose of ceremony.
And for those in this thread saying Miles is not a class act if he doesn't play the kid….you can all go die in the same fire together.

I honestly don't care one way or the other. I was just pointing out the fact that, without knowing one way or the other, you felt the need to assume what you considered to be the worst and then linked it to another problem you have with Miles and tar him with both. It was textbook opening your mouth without first knowing what the shot was...which honestly is pretty par for the course of this horrendous place.

The player seems like a great guy and I would't mind seeing him in on a play or two at all.

Not for me, I'd bet not for many others as well.
I began posting on LSU message boards back in 2000 because it was an opportunity to engage in conversation with like-minded people about something I cared about. Before then you were limited to the group of people you'd run into in your daily life which was rather small in comparision. The internet allowed vast numbers of fans to get together and talk about the program...both good and bad.
What it seems to have morphed into over the years is a conglomeration of fricking miserable counts who spend far more time bitching about the program than discussing it. It's why the stupid term "sunshine pumper" has always rubbed me the wrong way. I'm a god damn fan! Of course I'm positive about MY program! Saying positive things about a positive thing is NOT an issue, or it certainly should not be on a message board dedicated to discussing that thing.
So...if I'm wrong and the true purpose of this place is to have an open forum to complain, than I stand corrected. If Chicken named the place The Rant because that was his vision...to create a place where LSU fans could literally rant about the program, than so be it.
I then formally ask that he be smart enough to create yet ANOTHER board on this sight dedicated for simply discussing the program. A board where actual adult who can string together thoughts longer than what you could squeeze into a tweet can hang out and enjoy talking LSU sports without this constant grousing about every god damn thing. That happens, I'll be glad to swing on over there and leave this cesspool to those who seem to get no joy out of the entire endeavor.

A friend of mine from HS was the back up punter for LSU. Never punted or played a down in a game for LSU.
I felt bad for him, but at least he had the opportunity to stand on that sideline and be a part of the LSU Tiger Football family.

what happened is the youth internet culture took over with people far more concerned with being "trolls" and their "internet personas" than actually having rational conversation. It isn't something unique to this board. Any internet forum, particularly those that are free, are just like it, whether it's a board about college football or any other subject. shite, even the comments sections are regularly webpages are that way. It's quite sad actually. Honestly, it's more a reflection that people spend far too much time on the internet.

This has nothing to do with Miles. Thanks to the kid for his service, but being older, serving and running a program at Southern in now way earns him the right to be handed a plays in games for some stupid "rudy" moment.
