what do yall consider the most stable. I mean economic forecasts, diplomacy between local sovereignties, etc. I'd suppose the whole westen side of Europe including France, Belgium, Germany, Spain.

Just had a random thought curious what everyone's perspective is and why?

Stable economically?

UK could see triple dip recession

UK does have the best economy in the EU.

So much now the rest of the EU feel the Brits owe them more of their share.

Good responses. Obviously every region in the world has its problems. I wouldn't say I'm the most informed citizen but im attempting to better my education on the world around me. Had no clue of Belgium's political climate.

Just seems like most regions are always on the brink of some urban or multi regional wars whether it be via terrorism or political motivations.

Belgium was technically anarchic a couple of years ago Not in the fire-and-looting sense but they couldn't even put together an elected government. Not exactly stable.

I'd echo Oceania and also put forward Northwestern USA, sans the West Coast. Inland Washington and Oregon, Idaho, Montana. Alberta and Saskatchewan as well if we want to include Canadian land. Nothing too close to Mexico; immigration alone isn't a huge factor in most places but it's sufficient to "destabilize" the area at least a little bit. Nothing in the cities either.

is a net drain on the economy of those states. Practically all of the economic activity is west of the Cascades.

Big anti-Semitic problems by Muslims in Belgium and France. Neo-Nazi Nationalists on the rise in Germany. Spain...separatists movement; and probably the Muslim problem too.

Stable is out the door; the domino effect rules. If there is a 'stable' place...it would most likely be in lightly populated areas of Alaska, where folk are relatively independent. Cold as a witch's tit up there.

Good luck, HG.

The far north is going to be an area of geopolitical tension in coming years as the climate warms, the ice melts, and there's a rush to exploit energy, minerals, and fisheries. Scandinavia, northern Canada, and Alaska won't be backwaters any more.

True, Jim. All kind of good stuff under that ice. Assuming no catastrophic economic collapse and stagnation in the expansionist model. Which would only be temporary. If I were a young man...I'd probably stake out a claim up there. I love beauty.

While I am sure you are correct, no one alive today will live long enough to see it. I think he is talking about recent history and the present

While the taxes are high the Nordic countries in a walkover. Scandinavia is insanely stable though there are some racial tensions from African refugees that sought asylum in places like Sweden and have not blended in at all well.

North America has Mexico, Canada has such intense political feuding that a few years ago the Governor General (the Queen's representative) was asked by the government to dissolve parliament and call for early elections, and the US has been crawling along on a lukewarm economy.

Africa is Africa. South America is South America. Asia has an expansionist China on the rise and Japan rearming. Europe has Germany, and to a lesser extent France and the UK, having to carry the dead weight of the non-Nordic countries.

Australia and New Zealand are quite nice though.
