Thinking about installing some outdoor security cameras on the house. Any recs. on wireless cameras, maybe with a DVR? I've been looking at some Lorex products, but don't really know what to look for.

These were recommended last week here as a great deal. There are some good reviews on youtube and other places as well.

I've done everything shy of dissembling that camera and I think it's a great deal for inside but I'm not so sure it's rated for outdoor use.

I can tell you those foscams are hugely popular as long as you can work through a few quirks.

Any recommendations for a wireless camera with night vision? In-Laws want to be able to watch the deer in their back yard at night. Distance of about 100 ft tot he router.

What kind of internet connection are you on? What is your budget looking like?

Here's a kit for right under $300

Although, with companies like Dropcam offering easy and affordable solutions for mobile viewing and cloud storage of your security footage, why not take a look at them? Other companies offering similar services include CameraFTP and iVideoN

Arlo is Netgear's unit that they are pushing. It is wireless but the recording is motion activated and cloud based, which saves battery but means you don't have 24/7 recordings. Doesn't suit everyone's needs but still pretty cool. With the cloudbased portion you can get notifications and view from a smart phone or tablet.
