Iphone 5 or 5c?

My 4s earpiece is shot. I've tried having it fixed more than once and the tech says that he can't figure it out, even after replacing the entire earpiece. My bluetooh also seems to be damaged as it has trouble connecting to something if it is more than 1 foot away.
I don't have a very big budget for this. I'd like to keep it under $250, so I'll probably have to buy used. Craigslist is full of scammers for iphones, so I'm not sure I want to try searching on there.
Anyway, what phone should I get and where should I try to get it?

aren't the 5 and 5c almost the exact same phone with slightly differenct cases?
