Was he sleeping when Atlanta agreed to the Julio Jones/draft pick deal?

I don't think it would be a terrible hire at all...the guy has a decade of proven defenses under his belt. Atlanta already has offensive talent and a foundation...just needs to rebuild the offensive line.

I think he would be a great fit...if he even had an average offense during his time with the jets (and that's on him no doubt) we'd be laughing at the notion of him being fired.

Mike Smith isn't a bad coach, I think it's pretty obvious to everyone except Arthur blank that dimitrioff and pioli don't know what they're doing and don't have any qualifications other than they used to bring Bill Belichick his coffee

He's not top 35 in the NFL for WRs this year FYI.

Great talent, but that team has tons of holes in it that would probably be filled by some of those draft picks.

ETA:

Its debatable

This team has also suffered a string of injuries that would put any team in a pinch. The last two years have been brutal in Atl.

As someone who lives in Atlanta and surrounded by Falcons fans, this excuse is getting so tired. Every team has injuries every season.

Mike Smith isn't head coach material. Period.

They don't all lose their starting LT, C, 2nd String C, 2nd String Rt who was forced into action after RT had to moved to LT.

Mike Smith since his hiring has 4 double digit win seasons 2 NFC south titles. He's done fine.

Cowboys have had similar if not worse attrition on defense, but have found a way to step it up. It's not impossible to overcome a catastrophic injury situation. But it is exhausting to listen to as an excuse.
