I always thought Shakedown by Bob Seger from Beverly Hills Cop II was a pretty good song. I haven't heard it in forever though.

Ween - Eye 2 the Sky

This was a song that was originally written for the Muppets in Space movie for when Gonzo is wondering about if there is anyplace where he belongs, and I think the spaceship of his people is landing. It was actually scrapped and rejected when the producers decided to go with a Motown theme for the movie.

I'm not sure this is my favorite song made for a movie, but the song in your op reminded me of it.
