However AJ is a Sophomore and has a full year longer with the Playbook and that is why AJ is playing.
But when AJ is playing at the level that he's at, there has to be at least some thought to going a different direction.

This offense is severely regressing since mid-season and the lead issue is QB play.

At some point, practice, film study, etc. don't give much credence to actual playing time because of what's actually happening on the field.

If extra film study gets me 123 yards and 0 points, then I don't want to watch any more film.

AJ isn't getting better. All of the time AJ is putting in with the playbook and film room isn't helping him learn the offense any better, we still see, at least once or twice a game, AJ turn the wrong way on a hand off.

AJ Is just an awful QB. There is no getting around that. Now we have wasted a year of experience Harris could have had, either way this year would have been a throw-away but we could have been getting Harris ready for the future.

Alas, AJ will likely be the starter until he graduates and will have the worst statistics of any LSU QB. Woo hoo for attempting to reach the 50% completion bar!

He will never be ready unless he is allowed to experience playing in real games at the college level. This is the ideal time for him to get game time. What do we have to lose?

If our coaching staff truly believes what this poster thinks, then what does it say about our coaches when they started him in a hostile SEC road game. If he is as clueless as some suggest, then he should have redshirted.

There is no logic to this argument. Harris not ready but starts at Auburn anyway.

but I think it was more along the lines of him admitting he needed to put more time in if he wanted to see the field.

Well hell.....what do expect the boy to say? Hey, frick this...I'm ready to move on to the NFL and supplant Brady with the Pats....screw LSU.

Of course, hes going to say he needs to work.

Did IQs just suddenly drop.

If Brandon Harris is not good enough to replace the worst QB in the NCAA then they should not have recruited him.

If THATS the reason I wasn't getting the PT I wanted, I would watch film almost every second I could.

He has to know why (at least by now). At least by now, hopefully, he has done something about it.

This is who Miles is. This is who he has been. Some younger guys have been exceptions but older and more experienced guys knows what it takes to play for this staff and it appears by all accounts that Harris just took too long to learn.

yet with all of that...he is still regressing and playing horribly

change can re-energize teams

But he was ready to start the 6th game of the season at #5 Auburn? But he can't come off the bench at home in the 10th game of the season or on the road during the 11th game because he isn't ready? Got it.

The coaching staff has proven that they are incapable of noticing when a player is "ready".

Seems like they hit the nail on the head with Beckwith to me. He missed just as many tackles as Welter did this year...he just looked bigger, stronger and more athletic doing it. Since he was inserted as a starter, dude has straight balled.

Miles has started plenty of young players (who had more experienced players ahead of them), and for the most part they all seemed to play at a high level.

D.J. Welter started about 16 games at MLB folks.

You could literally call the same play 10 times in a row and Harris would have more success than AJ running 10 different plays.

Just dumb it down and play the more talented player! His talent will take over.

Lets don't forget. He's taking the spot of one of the worst statistical qb's in the country and history of LSU

the bottom line is if he wasn't going to give him meaningful reps he should have redshirted. If he wasn't going to redshirt he needs some reps or it will be the same next year. Look at Miami, Clemson, Tennessee. Im sure there are others too. At least LSU has the talent on both sides of the ball to offset some of the young QB's flaws. Its basically been that way this year anyway. Im not sure if the QB play could be any worse so.......Let er rip!!!!

I understand that if at this stage of the game Harris can't master a small package of plays to come in an execute then we have much bigger issues going forward the next couple of years.

I love how Jennings gets all the snaps but has not improved at all while Harris is supposed to learn the offense by sitting on the bench. No amount of excuse making or rationalizing can justify this discrepancy.

But thats not the case. Harris is supposed to prove to the staff by his preparation all week that he deserves the job more then Jennings. If at this point in his career Harris lets Jennings arrive earlier than him, leave after him and watch more film than him, then it's fault.

This season, he has handled two QB's said to be competing for the starting position in the following manner: Anthony Jennings has thrown for a 46% completion rate. He has averaged 18 attempts for ~127 yards passing starting 10 games out of 11. He has thrown for 9 TD's against 6 Int's. He has rushed 96 times for an average 1.92 yard per carry and 0 TD's.

In his last 4 games, he performed at a rate of 46% completion rate, he has averaged 20 attempts in that span, averaged passing for 106 yards per game, has 3 TD's to 3 Int's along with a fumble. He has rushed 96 times for an average 1.92 yard per carry and 0 TD's.

Brandon Harris has attempted 5 or more passes in 4 games. In those games, he has passed for a 62% completion rate, he has averaged 11 attempts passing for 110 yards per game starting 1 game of the 11 played, he has 6 TD's to 1 Int. In those games he has rushed for 20 times for an average 7.2 YPC and 3 TD's.

Explain on what planet player 2 is not ready while player 1 is. What truth do you see in the stats above? Is it the one bad game against the 10 for Jennings? Is it the fact that Harris has a better TD:Int ratio? A better YPA? A bet YPC? Better completion percentage? And he isn't slightly better, he blows him out of the freaking water! I don't see how this is even an argument anymore. Dude hasn't played in, come the A&M game, 57 days significantly.
