(2) A $10 Minimum Wage will reduce jobs and increase cost of goods produced by minimum wage workers. (3) The GOP should pass it immediately. Would impact GOP constituents minimally.

These statements could possibly contradict eachother

No. I think I have a problem with the notion that one must be able to make a "living" off of every single job available. I had several jobs in my life that I could not make a "living" off of that were valuable for any other number of reasons, and I'd hate to deny others such opportunities.

I actually don't completely disagree with that statement.

But the fact remains that there are plenty of people trying to support themselves and/or others based on wages below the "living wage"

Considering that is almost impossible if you actually have to provide your own housing, we'll just have to accept that some workers might require some government assistance.

So that being said, would you have a problem with the state of Louisiana raising the minimum wage to say 10 dollars an hour?

If min wage goes to $10 an hour the family farm will be laying someone off because our employees that make X% over min wage are going to want a raise.

Old fashioned idea. Share a place to live. Happens all over the world.

I'm sure many people choose this route

I know people with pretty healthy incomes that choose this route in fact

They could. IMO, they don't.

Well if they don't contradict each other it would mean that the job losses and increased costs of goods would be essentially negligible

The GOP is the party of the exceedingly wealthy, right? The party of the rich.
You're going to tell me they will care about 35¢ added to the cost of a Big Mac? Another poster here thinks they will care though. Maybe he's right.

IMV, this should be a clear case for leftists of "be careful what you ask for, because you might just get it." It is an area the GOP should grant in route to bigger better things.

I'd imagine the wealthy rarely eat at McDonald's lol

And I honestly don't think that the price increases would be that relevant. Too many other inputs in the system for a marginal increase in only labor to drive up costs substantially IMO
