agreed

1. No, it means scientists will never be able to answer questions as exacting as "what percentage of today's high in my city is anthropogenic." No physical system involving fluids is ever going to resolve to that level of detail. Similarly, a doctor will never be able to tell you exactly how many Dr. Peppers over a lifetime will cause diabetes, but can authoritatively state you should cut back on a 12-pack a day

Ok then. And i'm not advocating for no regulations on O&G industry either. I'm advocating that by and large, the global warming claim has been a hoax. I agree that we have expelled CO2 in the atmosphere with fossil fuels. But i do not believe the amounts are harmful to the planet. That doesn't mean we not monitor or be diligent about finding alternative fuel. And it sure as shite doesn't mean we pass some bullshite legislation aimed at making politicians rich that will result in little to no reductions of CO2. Crippling regulations will not solve the issue and no regulations will not do anything either.

quote:

2. Our CO2 isn't special. It's that our net emissions (combined with deforestation) have tipped the carbon source/carbon sink balance.

Thank you for the link. I will read. I am skeptical, however. It is hard to not be skeptical nowadays, when even science is politicized and falsified to acheive a political end. Hopefully this article neutral and purely scientific.

3. Actually, I believe it probably is, and that's the most likely explanation for ~the pause~. AGW doesn't lead to a neat, steady increase, nor does it cancel out natural cycles such as the PDO/AMO. What it does is change a cycle naturally comprising downswings and upswings, into a cycle of pauses and BIG upswings.

And i believe the swings we may be going through are due to natural cycles. But again see 1, i'm not advocating for no regulatins.

America makes up 4% of the human population. Co2, makes up roughly .04% of the atmosphere. America's portion of that .04% is .016%. Now, it's estimated that 4% of that CO2 that is tallied comes from "man made" sources. So that would mean that man made CO2 makes up approximately .0064% of the Earth's atmosphere.
There are two false divisions here. The first is suddenly taking America individually. Nowhere have I implied that China or the rest of the world is populated by hippies and/or saints. The second is taking the CO2 "coming from man made sources," which as I just said, only considers the gross and not the net.

Humans contribute 4% of the gross. But they contribute more than 100% of the net (more than 100% because the net from the ocean and non-human terrestrial cycles is negative).

Comparing a Co2/year to Co2 - not even the same fricking units dude.

This must be dumbest and dummerest toester.

you know if you cut the last sentence off most of your replies, not as many people would hate you

But - CO2 is not a pollutant, period. It is a trace element REQUIRED for life to exist on this planet.

It is funny how they claim to be the smart ones and believe in science yet they don't seem to understand photosynthesis.

nobody is arguing that CO2 is required for life.

If the atmosphere was 100% oxygen no life could exist either. That's a complete nonsequitor to the climate change/global warming discussion.

That was done in a previous post, simply to debate legislation of climate change.
