Mickey can take open long jumpers, but he just does NOT have the 3 range. Hell I really don't even like Martin shooting 3's. Leave it to hornsby and gray. Maybe quarterman if he's hot. He needs to live inside the arc on both ends.

I'd MUCH rather Martin shoot threes than Quarterman. That said, I do prefer Martin slashing to the basket. He's so fricking good when he asserts himself. Scary good.

yeah you right, i don't want timmay ever taking three's

Jarell ended up a little better percentage last year than I thought. Hit 1/3 of his shots from outside. Timmy? 20 percent

Martin gets into bad habits with his jump shot. Sometimes he starts shooting with zero arc. That's when he struggles. When he's putting a little arc on his shot its amazing how much more often it goes in.

The sad part is I think Mickey and Martin are going to be gone after this year and I just wish they would stay one more year. We would have Gray Hornsby Martin Mickey and Simmons. Oh god if that isnt a championship caliber team then idk what is.

every damn time epps got the ball he shot

Evidently Epps didn't get the memo that we were holding for one shot before half. We milked the clock down and then he gets the ball on the wing and fires up a three with 10 seconds left, giving TT the ball for last possession before half.

Probably why Jones sat him the entire second half. Now if we can just teach Gray to keep the ball at the end of games

Just speculating, but he may still be in the mindset that he has to do everything himself, as he did in JUCO. He showed at TTU that he can be a facilitator. I like his quickness and aggressiveness and his ability to get to the bucket, but I'd like for him to not press so hard. I think he'll get it.

I agree. Definitely the most talent this team has had in years. May take a little while but if we can put it together these guys can do a lot.

I think they said last night that Quarterman had the only 5 bench points for LSU following his steal at the end of regulation. Are we just trying to get our starters some experience since we have some new guys, or is our bench that bad?

The bench probably isn't going to contribute a lot of scoring throughout the year. Right now, the bench rotation is TQ, Patterson, Epps, Bridgwater. The first three are capable of having good scoring nights here and there, but it is unlikely that any of them will be brought in to put points on the board. Their minutes help in other areas of the game. Scoring-wise, LSU is going to live or die with their big 4. I wouldn't be shocked to see them all avg. double figures

I have Charter cable and I have the sports package. I used to get CBS Sports network when it was only in standard def on my cable system. But when they added the hi def channel, even though I pay for the sports package, I don't get CBS Sports network anymore.

fricking Charter!

Playing Gardner-Webb was considered a mainland game as part of the tournament. I don't expect them to make it out of there side but anything can happen. This as has been said is a very winnable tournament. We have to take advantage of this early season and starting building a resume. It's still early but it looks like yet again the SEC will be very weak again and we won't have many chances to build our resume in league play. Jones has to improve our non-conference schedule going forward. He has to schedule a couple tournament caliber teams each year.

And, it looks like we've got a MONSTER game coming up on Friday! #1 LSU v. #4 ODU!!! Set your DVR (if you can find the channel that it's on)

EDT: And...LSU has already beaten #7 - #9. Can we just move selection Sunday up 4 months?

I wouldn't be shocked if they all average over 14 a game...

Honestly, I'd be shocked if they averaged less than that...
