Great idea IMO.
Stealing that 1-3% transaction fee from the likes of Paypal, Chase, Apple Pay, Google Wallet etc.
+ having a userbase that mainly uses their parents money or has access to some of it.
What are your thoughts?

My bank and I would assume most banks have a bill pay online feature. All I need is your cell number, name, and email to setup a payee. I can make a one-time or recurring payment from my mobile device for no charge.
How does snapchat improve on that service?

You probably arent their target demographic w this.
It's an app you are already familiar with and have your friends on it as well. You just type in $15 and send them $15 within seconds.
Most kids arent paying bills online or have a bank account.

Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, and Discover are the ones that get those transaction fees.

A lot of times me and a friend will split a case. It's always a pain in the arse if one of us doesn't have cash. This will make it easy to send over half the money.
or you could use google wallet and avoid any fees whatsoever
because by using Square theyre going to take a percentage of your money

I've actually never heard of Google wallet, I'll have to look into that. The difference is, the majority of college students already have snapchat and frequently use it.
I'm down for whatever is free. However, the majority of people who will use this will be girls who could give two shits about the fees.
It's a brilliant move by snapchat.

Who wants to login to PayPal?
Hell, I hate when I have to do it for DAT payments.
