NFL suspension policy is apparently driven by twitter responses.

Dwight Howard has very similar charges against him and bc their is no video/pics, he is good to play.

AP helped them out in a big way, he could have forced their hand, and dragged out their PR nightmare even longer

what a dick move by the NFL

Seriously he had already served what a 10 game suspension? That is over half a season that was plenty.

At this point, I hope the NFL crashes and burns and a new football league rises from the ashes.

Goodell is such a coward that there was honestly no other alternative. AP is probably lucky that the pussy didn't ban him for life in a craven attempt to "appeal to women".

He hasn't been suspended. He's been getting paid

Not sure why people are shocked here. He is getting the discipline his union agreed to

He was saying that he could have fought this from the beginning snd did not. He let the judicial system play out while staying on the sidelines.

The is ZERO consistency or fairness in how NFL issues conduct penalties.

So a 1st timer offender charged with a misdemeanor should get a 1yr long plus suspension? This is 4-6 max. Plus I am sure AP could have forfeited his salary for the games he didnt play and they could have done a retroactive suspension.

that's the precedent now, Goodell better follow it.

He easily could have paid those games paychecks as a fine to get back on the field. A year suspension is pretty harsh

They could have had Dwight on live TV doing the same thing, but the NBA has a legit union.

CBA for the NBA says they can on suspend if the player in question is convicted of a felony.

I assumed he wouldn't return this year when the pics came out so not really anything shocking here.

How could AP have "forced their hand"?

This is a BS decision. He's already "served" his time, if you want to tack on an additional fine, ok.

I've said this from the beginning - this is more of an issue of him not being educated to social norms, not him being a complete monster and chronic child abuser. A full season is complete asinine.

He was charged with a felony and plead to a misdemeanor.

He's been paid $9,000,000 so far this season. He's been "serving" a paid vacation.
