Is last year's offense the ceiling?

Our offense was good last year. If we had that offense, and this defense, we would be in good shape. But even then that offense played a large role in the Alabama and Ole Miss losses. Will we have more offensive talent than Mett, OBJ, Landry, Hill, and Blue in the near future? We might have had the most talented offense in the nation last year judging by how these rookies are performing. And if that's our offensive ceiling, will we just have to hope that an elite defense coincides in order to win a championship?

Elite D last year and we would have won a NC. We are better this year on the line, at LB, and in the Secondary.

The defense gave up 525 yards to Ole Miss and couldn't stop Alabama after the fake punt.

Yeah yeah Mett threw 3 picks.

One of the best offenses in LSU history, and the most talented unit in the nation finished 85th in total offense? We were good, yes. But if we really have to have talent comparable Mett, OBJ, Landry, Hill, and Blue to halfway compete on offense I think you'll see why so many are pessimistic.

If we could have last year's offence every year I would take it. You would be stupid not to. A 3000 yard passer 1400 yard rusher and two 1000 yard receivers. Yea your an idiot if u wouldn't take that.

Offenses in the SEC don't do much better than that.

There's a reason they say defense wins championships.

I'm sorry. You're right. They finished 85th in 2013.

People forget that both Landry and Beckham had over 1150 yards and 8+ TDs a piece. Landry had nearly 1200.

People are so insane. The only reason we didn't have even more offense, is because of the defense keeping the offense off the field. Had we averaged like 70+ plays a game like other teams, we'd be even higher than 35th in offense.

Mett 10.4 ypa
Beckham 19.53 ypr
Landry 15.5 ypr
Hill 6.9 ypc
Magee 7.3 ypc

Does anybody understand just how high those averages are? Does anybody understand just how explosive that is? LSU was 7th in the country in yards per play.

It's frustrating that we never seem to have an offense and defense clicking on all cylinders at the same time.
