New Orleans Weekend (Peche, Clancy's, Stanley)

I had a good weekend in NOLA, and I am drained today. I really do not see how Arse does it every weekend. First, I will apologize now for the lack of pictures. I will cut and paste a few where I can. The whiskey took over and I forgot to take pictures.
I pulled up to Peche at noon for our reservation. Let me just say that I would go to Peche last before any others. It ruined the rest of our weekend because it was so good. The other places were also good, but they did not add up to Peche. I did not get to meet the Famous Arse. Maybe next time.
We started with hush puppies, fried bread, tuna dip, and royal reds. All were amazing, especially the butter that accompanied the royal reds. We dipped everything else in the butter. I had the crab and jalapeno capellini. It was good. I’m generally not big on desert, but we ordered three for the table. They included key lime pie, pineapple upside down cake, and salted caramel cake. All were good, and I washed it down with the Mariner drink. I will be back to Peche in the near future.
Then we went to Manning’s for drinks. Met a few Ole Miss people.
Dinner was at Clancy’s. I got the smoked pork loin in a mustard sauce. It was pretty good, but my friend’s steak was better. Can not remember much else at this point. Crashed afterwards.
Brunch was at Stanley. I have been to Stanley at least 10 times and it never gets old. I got the Breaux Bridge Benedict. This dish is amazing, and it soaked up all the alcohol from the night before.
At the dome I grabbed some nachos. I headed home at the end of the third quarter. All in all it was a great weekend.

It sounds incredible. Too bad it wasn't as good as expected.
Looks like a good weekend.
Only deviation for me is.. I know you can't go wrong with anything at Peche, but I don't think I could go and not get a single item from the raw bar. That's where they really shine IMO.

Several people suggested that. I purposely did not order from it. Thus, I have to go back sooner.

I can get down with that logic.

Also should have ordered the flounder for the 3 of you.

I agree. I saw one go by, and thought hard about ordering it. That is the whole fish, right?

the hype for this place is getting out of control. Yes it's awesome and it's the hottest in the city….but for it to ruin the rest of your dining experience is pretty absurd

Yes. They had redfish and flounder. I had the flounder the last time I went there. It was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had.

I did not ruin it. It was just the pinnacle, and happended to be the first stop. Next trip I will save it for Saturday night. Also, I will try to make it to Atchafalaya for brunch. They were booked solid this past weekend.

I feel ya.
I adore Peche, but I am also a sucker for an extremely rich braised meat/pasta/etc. type of meal.
I could easily have a lighter type of meal at Peche one night, and turn around and have a heavy, rich meal elsewhere the next night.
Both good. But for different reasons.
