ED HENRY, FOX NEWS: At your Burma townhall a couple of days ago, you tried to inspire young leaders by saying, "governments need to be held accountable, need to be responsive to the people." I wonder how you square that with your former adviser, Jonathan Gruber claiming you were not transparent about the health law because in his words the American people, the voters are stupid. Did you mislead Americans about the taxes, about keeping your plan in order to get the bill passed?

PRESIDENT OBAMA: No, I did not. I just heard about this. I get well-briefed before I come out here. The fact that some adviser who never worked on our staff expressed an opinion that I completely disagree with in terms of the voters, is no reflection on the actual process that was run. We had a year-long debate, Ed. I mean, go back and look at your stories. The one thing we can't is that we did not have a lengthy debate about health care in the United States of America. Or that it was not adequately covered. I would just advise -- every press outlet here, go back and pull up every clip, every story, and I think it will -- it's fair to say there was not a provision in the health care law that was not extensively debated and was fully transparent. Now, there were folks who disagreed with some of the various positions. It was a tough debate.

Well, I am glad the President put this to rest and I for one believe him.

Obama believes the public is smart. This is why he is fading the election results, polls and giving amnesty to 5 million illegals. He knows what's best for us.

This from the same guy whose Speaker of the House said "you'll have to pass it to find out what's in it."

Watching the clip, I'd have to say that was the best guilty "I'm innocent" responses I've seen/heard in a while. Guy showed no defensive tone in his voice or look on his face with his reply.

Anyone who doesn't recognize his mannerisms by now, concerning truth and lies, will never get it I guess.

He just heard about what Gruber said publicly.

Doesn't mean he didn't know about lying to the American people or the CBO.

I think that we have a record of Gruber meeting with the president 19 times.

The President has changed the law over a dozen times without the consent of Congress AFTER it was passed. He has moved deadlines and altered it repeatedly.

We didn't know what was in the law until we passed it.

There was NOTHING transparent about anything in that process. He is lying - or, he really wants it to be true because it is his only real accomplishment.

He's being very Clintonian.
He's only just heard about the videos.
It all depends on what the meaning of the word "heard" means.

The "debate" happened in the Democrat caucus and the MSN. Republicans were totally shut out. The OBO's, led by Speaker Pelosi, rammed it down America's throat. Period.

Apparently not if you "just heard about this".

Then why did you meet with him numerous times and pay him 400 grand?

Lying piece of shite president.

I guess as a stretch I could see inside the bubble him not hearing about the Gruber thing. It's not likely, but is plausible.

But the whole crux of Grubergate is that they had to lie, deceive the CBO and pass an incredibly vague bill in order for Obamacare to have any chance of succeeding. Gruber even mentions meeting with Obama and figuring out ways to phase in or piecemeal the ACA because it would be such a terribly ominous behemoth of a bill if passed at one time. Sadly, that's what we got.

Gruber is now like Bill Ayers. Just some guy from the neighborhood. Only meet him once or twice and doesn't know him that well.
