One thing this defense is missing is veteran leadership and a playmaker in the middle. With Patrick Willis going to IR, and Chris Borland looking more and more each week like a stud, what are the chances that Willis could be had in a trade or possibly even cut by the 49ers? Willis has that confidence and attitude that this Saints defense could really use right now. Curtis Lofton has been having probably his best season as a Saint thus probably will return next year, but it sure would be nice to see him & Willis together in the middle

If you can afford him having Patrick Willis on your team is never a bad thing.

Yeah, I'm sure the 49ers are dieing to cut their middle linebacker who has been an All-Pro player EVERY SINGLE YEAR he has been in the league because he has been injured.

We should probably wait for the Detroit Lions to cut Calvin Johnson to because he missed a few games with a bum ankle and Golden Tate has emerged!!

We are gonna be soooo fricking good next year!

we need to start drafting better. we are strapped for cash because of all the veteran contracts we have had to hand out.

No I don't have one bud, but I did read it on there......They were talking about his cap # being high (I know that would be a problem for us too) and how Borland was doing good and basically just thinking out loud that that could be a possibility for them to deal Willis to create cap space and stockpile picks like they tend to do and even though Willis was still playing good that he might be starting to trend downward as far as production and now with being injured also

Or... Maybe they'll give us Boorland instead. But honestly, Vic Fangio really makes LBs shine. Name a LB that's been on the 9ers since Fangio has coached there that has been sub-par. I certainly can't think of any. They are always good players who can cover when needed and are huge playmakers. I would kill to have Fangio back in NOLA.

Why would the Niners ever think about trading an all pro LB. Saints need to start drafting LBs in the first round. Maybe stop putting a bargain buck defense on the field so a QB can throw picks and cash checks.

I saw the same article. They have a good situation. They have Willis, Bowman and now Borland has emerged. They're doing themselves a disservice uh keeping all 3 unless they wanna move one outside.

Right, because a week 11 trade is exactly what myself and NFL.com said, exactly......Not like we could be thinking about next year at all, not a chance

I think we have more of a need at cornerback and Patrick Peterson was hurt that one time. Plus LSU. #ship And if we do a trade we can maybe get them to throw in Fitzgerald. #madden15
