Who just quarterbacked the last Green Bay drive and why?

If Thursday nights and the idea of 18 games are so "unfair" to the players, why would any team play its starters in the 4th quarter when up 33?

Know why you get an upvote? Because you emit what the "not fair to the players" people do not: honesty.

My issue is with over-saturation. And Thursday games, even when "competitive" are typically sloppy shite-shows.

My interest in the NFL has taken a nose-dive with the way they've effectively eliminated defense and with how they've tried to shove it down our throats at every single turn.

Unrelated: Pro football won't exist in 25 years.

We'll see.

There's currently a generation of young kids that will either be wholeheartedly forbidden or strongly discouraged by their parents from playing football when they reach playing age. I don't see how that won't affect the game somewhere down the line.

as long as we can find 11 to wear the black and gold we'll be fine...

players might make a little less, they might not be as good, but most naked eyes won't tell. most of the parents with an anti-football stance won't be producing the strongest and fastest kids that play in the NFL

Yeah, if not for the Saints I don't think I'd watch a lick of NFL every week. It just feels stale for me. I need some defense. It's all about big numbers and fantasy. It's nearly impossible to even have a discussion with someone about a game without something coming up about their fantasy team.

There will be more injuries. At the very least 2 games worth, maybe compounded. That will make the game suck more. And we don't need 2 more games. The NFL season is not too short.

There's a little bit of a difference between playing a little later in a a blowout and playing another whole game 4 days later.

I'm a little more amenable to the playing 18 games argument, especially if you do things like nuke 2 preseason games and/or add a second bye.

I'm not saying it's going anywhere any time soon. The NFL will be printing money for the foreseeable future. But there will, somewhere down the line, be a massive talent vacuum. And if they continue to cheapen the game with these anti-defense and pro-offense rules, they'll effectively lose their entire core base and will only be left with the the fringe fans and fantasy footballers.

Dont believe every OTL report you watch. Just because 2 percent of the Suburban moms wont want little johnny playing football, doesnt mean there will be a talent vaccum in the league ever. thats a ridiculous notion

most of the talent comes from lower income families that will look for any way out of that lifestyle. Concussion research wont stop that

Their core fans are the fantasy players and the ones that want high points and no defense. They are the majority. thats why they make the rule changes. Im not saying its right but thats how business works

I play fantasy. I have season tix. I'm losing interest due in part to the rule changes.

Except most good football players don't come from families where good parenting is a fundamental element. Sad but true. It may be that football participation nationally declines, but they will be able to still field teams with great players

I've never seen any data--Friday morning injury reports lined up against Monday morning injury reports, specifically--that supports this pervasive theory.
