Generally it's used in television shows, it's when the show goes to far/tries too much.
It comes from an episode of Happy Days when Fonzie literally tried to jump a shark via a skidoo.

All great ones but these are all pretty close to the current uniforms. Green Bays is a great throwback because its noticeable and cant be worn every week.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the uniform, but the coach's hats say "Acme Packers". Thats taking the whole damn thing too seriously.
