Where is the fire?

If the coach doesn't have a fire in him that is genuine along with confidence in his players you're done. I am a pretty good reader of character and Miles does not seem genuinely confident in his team. He hasn't for years. It just appears his kill or be killed fire in his belly is gone and it is carrying over to the field.

outside jennings apartment probably with the stupid fricks in this fan base.

Miles is fat and happy. The fire is gone.

If only Les had fire like Muschamp, the offense would score points

Miles lost confidence in himself on 1/9

I think he doesn't have confidence in himself. And hasn't since Little Nicky came back to the SEC. You can just see it in his facial expressions. Reminds me of Mr. Coach Kline from Waterboy.

not an excuse, just an observation.
wonder how much his mother passing has fricked with his head. i could see that being a big, big demotivational factor.
whatever it is, his heart was not in it last night.

Fire is on defense where all of the experience is.

Absolutely, seniors like Adams and Beckwith and Tre White and Godchaux. Those seniors have been the difference this year.

Exactly! We had experience last year along with 3 losses.

The fire is in the LSU fanbase.
Les decided he was going to play with fire by pretending to know something they didn't... that he was smarter than those not making over 4 million per. Les got burned by playing Jennings when it was obvious that he shouldn't.
I predict a more combative, sarcastic, arrogant Les moving forward. Not combative on the field, mind you, but against his critics and the journalists assigned to LSU football. He's being insulted left and right... enough that self-defense would be likely to surface in ANY man.
The quirky Les-speak will not cut it any more. The jig is up. The emperor has no clothes so he's going to start defending himself with barbs, slings, and arrows. This will not be pretty.

Sorry, I didn't know that Martin, Mills, Rasco, Thomas, Hunter, Louis, Alexander, Jones, and Collins hadn't played all year.
