he's not that stupid

he's not very intelligent, though, and he can't be creative and playful using coachspeak in real time (like a bill b)

in time that kind of developed into this "loveable oaf" character that the mouth breathers in the fanbase love, so he hams that up, too

Alan Risher made a comment about that last night on the post-game radio show. He said that Miles often speaks as if he is an observer rather than an active participant. It's as if he feels that he doesn't have the ability to make decisions that would influence the outcome of the game.
