Saints in Trouble Again??

Just saw Schefter report on NFL Countdown that after the Saints released Todd Davis they kept him at the facility and the Broncos (who claimed him) couldn't reach him because he was in Saints meetings.
Has this ever happened before? And idea of possible ramifications? Or not a big deal?
