My GoPro has an hour lol video from yesterday's hunt. In order to minimize the file size, the camera automatically splits the long videos into multiple files. When I try to view the last bit of the file, it is just a black screen with no color or sound. File is corrupted somehow. It doesn't show a picture preview like all of the other files, but is listed as .mp4.

I need this recovered and if I can't do it at home I'll bring it somewhere. Anyone advice?

Where are you trying to watch it? Most of the time data recovery places are mostly for accidentally deleted files or corrupt drives with good files. Both cases they don't rebuild the actual file needed.

Try copying it to the computer and opening it in VLC. It will try to rebuild the index and might work. If VLC will play it, you can save a stream to your harddrive and use that. LINK

I was using quicktime, which is the default for all of my videos.

VLC will not play anything
