Did we ever determine if the left turn was legal or not?

My understanding, no double line and you get hit, you at fault. Double line and you get hit, they at fault.

Assume yes. No oncoming cars.

I believe it makes no difference. However, aren't most four lane roads double yellow anyways?

Left turn?

Was this the got hit while turning left and somebody was passing? I thought the passer was always responsible, regardless of blinker or not.

I thought this was obvious, and taught in drivers Ed?

How is someone in the opposite lane going the wrong direction NOT at fault to someone making a legal turn?

In my defensive driving class today at angelwood, we went over this same exact situation and the instructor said it was up to "police work" to determine who started the move first.

Said it could go either way

Most laws I just looked up clearly defined this.

A signal IS required and there are distances, BUT passing is also prohibited within this range of intersections. And since the passing must be completed within this range, the onus clearly falls on the passing vehicle.

Im just saying my understanding. I dont care nor sober enough to look up actual statutes. I have always checked my drivers side mirror before turning and will continue to do so. If you're dead, it doesn't matter if you were right or wrong.

A left turning vehicle is usually presumed to be at fault unless traffic controls give that driver the right of way (green arrow, etc.)

You have a responsibility to make sure a vehicle is not attempting to pass you when you are turning left (which is nuts).
