No mention of Jonathan Gruber and his videos on Bill Maher's Real Time tonight

Pretty much confirms my opinion of Bill Maher, and of his show.

That which can't be spun must be ignored.
This is so bad they can't find a deflection angle so they just have to pretend it doesn't exist.

This is the only tactic they know.

Whining and pointing out the evident are two different animals.

Gruber called Maher and his ilk, gullible and dumb. Do you think he wants to advertise his own exposure to the masses..? We already know, Gruber really didn't reveal anything we didn't know, but just confirms it to the dumb people, who won't believe their ears anyway. They'll ignore, or blame Repubs for even bringing it up...just Watch their blind ignorance of the facts Gruber exposed..

Classic example of the people Gruber was talking about.

You used your monthly post for that?
Or alternatively, you dusted off an alter for that?

The saddest part about all these "controversial" topics being brought to light is the fact that there have been so many of them it seems that we are building up an immunity to them with just a shrug of the shoulders when a new controversy pops up.
I point my finger as to the cause of this at the MEDIA.

The MSM is scared of this one - they're awfully quiet.

Excellent post, Camden Tiger. While Maher is nowhere near the intellectual he pretends to be, he's smart enough to know that Gruber's disparaging remarks were aimed at people like him. That, plus the liberals haven't figured out how to spin this, anyway.
Poor Bill. He's still trying to convince himself that he didn't make a complete asshat out of himself when he contributed $1 million to Obama's campaign.
You know, that is one reason why I'm slightly conflicted about Gruber's remarks. The people Gruber is talking about invariably voted for Obama in 2012. Honestly, I don't have a positive opinion of those folks, either.

KCT - this isn't fully true - yes, they were targeting the uneducated masses of voters (and of both parties - they were still trying to sell it to "moderate" Republicans) - the bigger problem the MSM has is of pure credibility - they can't say they were too stupid to understand what was going on - if they admit that - they're doomed - particularly as the clips should be coming (and I don't know why not already - Hannity hit on it just a little yesterday on the radio) showing the Republican critics of the law and talk radio were saying EXACTLY what Gruber is now admitting - fudged numbers, is redistribution, AND worse, they would be contradicted and/or made fun of by the left-wing press.
So - they're caught - they can't really talk about the story without talking about their own lack of credibility - they're torn between 2 terrible alternatives - 1. They were completely fooled by the administration, Gruber, Pelosi, etc. (they can't say this - it isn't true), or 2. They were complicit in it and helped those people fool the "stupid" American people.
If you're a press organization, 1. is an almost fatal admission (or it should be) and 2. is far, far worse.

I heard a talking head make the statement the other day that the initial intent of the media's responsibility, in way back time, was to protect the citizenry of the country from the politics of the country, not to uphold it.
Makes sense to me.

Good point, Ace. I agree, the MSM was complicit in the effort to ram Obamacare down our throats. They're caught between a rock and a hard place. It's like the old adage, "Did you really fall for that, or are you really that stupid?"
The MSM can't afford to say that the truth about Obamacare wasn't important to them, and they certainly can't afford to admit that they were hustled, either. That's one more reason why liberal Jonathan Gruber is turning into the most effective, albeit unwilling, advocate for the conservative cause we've had in years
I was talking mostly about the true believers, though. The people who actually thought that Obamacare was a good program, and that they could be proud of their support for this bill. Somebody provided a link a day or two ago, and the disillusionment of some of these true believers even had me feeling sorry for them.

Well, there's the rub - they still believe this and will use it as an "ends justifies the means" argument at the end of the day.
However, the American people - once it is clear they've been misled/lied to - take a long time to come back. Remember when bipartisan support drove Nixon from the White House? Despite their efforts, Republicans were a poisoned brand for 6 years and it took the awfulness that was Jimmuh Cahta and the Reagan Revolution to reverse it only 6.

As tough as the conservatards on this board try to sound, they are bigger weeping vaginas than the libs here. Sentrius comes to mind. That guy has got to be a massive pussy in his real life as much whining as he does here. Mainly reactionary followers on this board as most conservatives are.

So that's it - y'all have no defense (not shocking, because it's indefensible) and instead of contrition and reasonableness, y'all are just going to call us names.
Go ahead - do your worst - I completed basic combat training 26 years ago (this week, in fact) - I completed ROTC 24 years ago (next month) - I've been yelled at and called names by the best.
But, about this total silence on Gruber from your guys - you got anything to say about that - pussy?
