Would be great to see our fans get into Basketball like the Duke, UNC, UK fans..

Just watching the Duke game and this is their first game of the season against a nobody, and their fans are into it like its a big game. I would like to see our fans getting into it like that again, like the Shaq days. If I lived closer to BR I would make a ton of games, but I live 2 hours away, so I will make as many as I possibly can. This team can be special, but they need our help and make the P Mac the Deaf Dome once again!!

It only gets like that when LSU is good, and only for huge games. I remember back in the Dale Brown years when Duke, Arizona and Loyola Marymount (sp) came to town. The def dome was in full effect. But I agree, it would be nice if it were like that all the time. Unfortunately basketball will never draw like Baseball and football around here.

In the words of Elleshoe
"LSU basketball: Everything else is irrelevant."

It's happened before, it can happen again. Ask anyone with season tickets for the 1981 season. Anyone remember us beating Arizona at home when Brady was here with Stromile Swift and Jabarri? Johnny has the ball rolling but I just wish he would show a little more emotion. The thing is with LSU fans is that the players have to win FIRST and THEN the fans will come. Everybody loves a winner.

I agree, but the fans show up and show support and the players will play harder.
Eta: How great would it be to win a NC in basketball one of these years under JJ, I definitely think it would get our fans into it big time.

That is not unique to LSU. I don't know of any school that has great fan support for a mediocre program. When the program improves, fan support improves.
Hopefully, the program is heading in the right direction. It would be nice to see the PMAC rock like it once did.

I'm as big a basketball fan as anybody, but Duke, UNC, UK are thee off the all time best college basketball programs. It's a bit auspicious to think LSU fans would ever put basketball on the level those fans do. That said, there's no reason the PMAC can't be full again. It just won't "happen" though. JJ is going to have to start getting on court results. This year is the best opportunity since 08-09

REALLY??? All the things to critique and you want more emotion? Are you a chick? If you are then I could understand this. The last thing I want to see is any LSU coach crying while doing an interview after a BIG win or even a big loss for that matter.

I agree this school can be great if we have the passion for the "big 3" sports in baseball football and basketball.

yeah but they trade off with football. not worth it, but we can definitely do better.

Duke = Basketball school..........

With all the new money coming in with the SEC Network, LSU has a chance to become a 3 sport school. Take a real commitment.

You can frick off with this. When we have vaguely consistent success (see: Late 70's into the early 90's), we have great fan support. I don't blame the fringe fans for not really sticking around the last 15 or so years. Just about every time we have a big year, we follow it up with a season that ranges anywhere from mediocre to God-awful. Make a few tournaments in a row and you'll start to see that LSU fans really do give a shite about basketball.
Sorry, I just hate this notion that we can only be a "football school", whatever the hell that means. We have a decent baseball program as well, in case you missed it.

It was definitely the def dome for the UK Ice Bowl game last year.

I camped out on the ramp of the pmac for more than a week back in the day. Awesome times

Every year when we're either good or when we go on a nice stretch of wins, the PMAC shows potential as to what it really can be if we put a consistent competitor on the court.

if you win, they will come. Simple as that.
LSU football didnt take off until Saban started winning here. Now look at all our facilities, the recruits we bring in, the fan base, etc. Win win win!!

yessir, I was at the game, thinking '77, when we were coming up, UK came into town undefeated, ranked #1, and we beat them with al of our starters fouled out, I'm sure that night cracked the top of the "Assembly Center"
