WASHINGTON -- Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) got a promotion on Thursday. She now has a seat at the Senate Democratic leadership table and, in a role created just for her, she will serve as a policy adviser and voice for progressives.

Her colleagues have no idea why this is happening.

"A liaison to liberals? I've never heard of such a thing," said Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), throwing his hands in the air. "I asked her about it and she said she was some kind of adviser. I don't know what it is. I don't know what that all means."

“I didn’t even know this was happening. I never knew it,” said Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.). “I mean, they can pick whoever they want to.”

Asked if he thought it was to help position Warren for a potential 2016 presidential run, Manchin said, “I really couldn’t speak to that.”

I'm all for it for Warren. A congressional leadership position is a politically thankless, controversial, hard, intense, no-win, and dead-end job.

It'll do a good job of neutering Warren, making her toxic and a poisoned well and keeping her away from the Oval Office.

I hope the DNC hangs onto her and gives her the green light to run for president.

She will be crushed outside of New England.

This could be very problematic if she has a presidential run.

They are immediately tying her to the progressive groups, meaning that she will have to continue espousing those beliefs on the campaign trail.

Not everyone will take kindly to progressive ideology.

Interesting game plan.

Sounds a bit like she doesn't, either.

The left coast will love her, but none of the swing states will. So come on dems nominate her.

Exactly my thoughts. Puts Warren in a position of creating lots of political enemies. Divide and conquer.

The Clinton machine is back up and running.

Not since Andrew Johnson at The Battle of Horseshoe Bend have we seen palefaces so brazenly sacrifice native Americans to further their political ambitions. They just gave Lieawatha a blanket with political smallpox.

Hard line Dems (Authoritarian Socialists) are enraged at the Conservative wave; they want someone to stand up and fight for the moral, Statist Principles in which they believe. Hillary can not win if she outwardly promotes such, as the leftover consequences of the Obama disaster will still be front and center.

Warren will push Hillary to the Left...just like the Tea Party will push the Republican nominees to the Right.

There is a ton of stuff to come down before the election. From ISIS, to a healthcare collapse to Illegals flooding the government services budgets, to Iran nuking up...and Lord only knows what else.

One thing is for sure...whatever happens...it won't be Liberal solutions that help...but Progressive policy that creates the problems. Just a matter of how long it takes for what's left of the sane (not Obama/Gruber's "stupid") electorate to save what is left of Electoral credibility and the Rule of Law. It could go to the streets...if Obama et al decide to flame the whole thing.

Like pubs trying to kill tea partiers perhaps this is the dem machine trying to kill the progs in their wing.

Bout the only thing pubs and dems agree on is that they should be the only f'ers agreeing or disagreeing in Washington.
