Truly one of the greatest athletes EVER to play at LSU.

In the 1950's- the New York teams had some amazing shortstops: Phil Rizzuto (Yankees), Pee Wee Reese (Dodgers), and Alvin Dark (Giants).

Some people think Dark was the best of the three.

He was a 3-time NL All-Star.

He also had a very successful managerial career, taking the Giants to the World Series and winning the World Series as the A's manager.

He accomplished all of that in spite of growing up with his friends calling him 'Alvin.'
