I hate to be pessimistic, but if he gets up there and says he purposely lied about the ACA and everyone that constructed the bill did the same thing, there is absolutely no chance that anyone will do jail time and the ACA will never be repealed.

Openly lying to Congress and in court depositions, then admitting it later in public and on the record, is fine in your world?

wow.

The GOP needs to slow play the Gruber hearings and basically wrap up in May. If they expose this douchebag a supreme court ruling against states receiving federal subsidies that have not set up state exchanges would garner more popular support IMO.

LOL at all of this. This is politics, he's not a fact witness.

This will only serve to tire out the American people.

he was under oath when he spoke before Congress.

His DEPOSITION he provided to the court was shown to include the lie, was caught at the time, and he said it was an error.

Now he says the lie was purposeful. I dont know what world you live in, but openly lying on depositions in federal courts will get you royally fricked in the arse.

Or make a SCOTUS ruling in favor of Halbig more palatable.

What "lie" are you referring to?

SCOTUS is the GOP's best chance. Dragging every idiot available before Congress is going to destroy what little goodwill we have. People are sick of this type of stuff.

We're so prone to do the exact things the Democrats do...

Oh, people are mad about income inequality and women's rights, let's campaign on it for a year....total arse kicking.

Oh, people hate Obamacare (despite reelecting Obama), let's fill the news with our own self-righteous blowhards badgering witnesses for show...

If they do this, wait until after January 3rd for one very big reason!

I agree but I don't think they can reasonably hold off that long.. I don't think they'll start any hearings until sometime after the new members of Congress take office. They take office on January 3rd. Let's say they take a month to get acclimated and up to speed on a few things. That's the beginning of February. The farthest they could push scheduling of hearings is a month out... so beginning of March. While May would be better, I think (unless something unforeseen happens) that would be close enough to still work.
