Yeah we get it, some of you don't like Foo Fighters.

I enjoy them and will be listening to each of these albums today. Feel free to post initial thoughts here. Listening to Pink Floyd first.

The entire second half of the album is better than the first IMO. No lyrics until the very end

i like the "new" floyd album, despite the shite many people are giving it. the 5.1 mix (in the deluxe edition) sounds awesome. definitely an album that needs to be heard in large chunks, and not just a song here & there. "nervana" (one of the bonus tracks) is one of the more raucous floyd jams i've heard by them, and has a garage-y rawness to it. is it one of the best floyd albums ever? hell no, not by a long shot. but there's a time & place for just about every floyd album, and i'm sure this one will be no different....

liked the floyd album a lot more than I thought I would. I know the song that flat out gives me chills is autumn '68.

as for calling it a division bell reject album, I've only heard one song that directly refers to tdb and that's talkin' hawkin'. the rest of it sounds nothing like it, in my opinion

I thought Talkin' Hawkin' was cool. I was a little skeptical of the idea of having Stephen Hawking's voice in it (seemed gimmicky to me), but it sounded really cool on the album with the music mixed with it.

Here is what he says:

quote:

Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible

Mankind's greatest achievements have come about by talking

Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future, with the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded

All we need to do is make sure we keep talking

Listened to the whole Floyd album tonight sitting by a fire on my patio with a warm stout and a cs Lewis book. I really love it. Echoes of lots of Pink Floyd eras all throughout. I was expecting it to sound like Division bell but it really doesn't. Fitting goodbye for them.

ok... listened to the endless river a couple of times...

i think it is the best way to draw the curtain down on the brand of pink floyd.

people seem to be upset that individual "songs" are only 2 minutes or less, but don't realize that the songs are broken up, but only like if shine on you crazy diamond would have been today. people need to realize that the "side" is the song, not the song title.
