The dialogue and combat system in Skyrim are the only two gripes about the game I have.

I mean, it wasn't like i HATED them. But if I could change anything about the game those would be the two things.

Go mages dude. I don't know WTF happens with the templers but it can't be nearly as crazy as the mages. Also, realize that once you complete that, you've completed like half the main storyline from what i've seen so go out and explore for a really long time before doing any more main story missions.

up to level 12. Beat that main quest mission's boss with no potions or party members by kiting him for 15ish minutes hah. Barrier and then Lightning Cage/Immolate... revive peoples as I could. intense.
Story got pretty crazy. I sided with mages too and just met what I guess is the final boss for the first time.
used Blackwall (tank), Iron Bull (2h dps) and Sena (Hunter) . I shoulda brought another mage like Vivienne for Barrier/reviving

I hate in recent gaming where you want to do everything but you have to worry about leveling up too much and it's just a fricking heachace and I can't find anywhere what level you need to be to do any of this stuff.
I want beating the final boss to be the final thing I do in the game. I want it to be closure.

just use your right stick to see what level things are before fighting. I didn't mess with lvl 12 stuff until I was 10/11
also on the war table, a suggested level is given. I pretty much knocked out as much I could for xp, before doing the halfway point boss fight. Follow Mire was fun.. easy to grind xp

I know that, but not for regions. The first time I entered the Mire, i barely beat the fight because there were 12s at the entrance. I came back a little while later and the region is mainly level 7s. It's confusing.

Well, don't do the find the ring quest in Oasis. You get overrun by about 10 level 12 corrupted spiders.
They aren't that tough, there are just too many of them.
And really, it depends on what you are fighting more than what the level is.
I've taken down a couple level 12 rifts and I'm level 8. I just pick and choose my battles.
