Last year:

Mett-3100 yards passing
Beckham-1100 yards receiving
Landry-1200 yards receiving
Hill-1400 yards rushing

17 - NUMBER OF FRESHMEN Who played for the Tigers on Saturday.

Everyone needs to chill out about our offense. Cam Cameron knows how to develop a 1st round quarterback - this is what our offense did last year when we had mature players. LSU had a 3000 yd passer, 2 WRs with over 100 yds receiving, and 1 RB with over 1000 yds rushing - FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY in Cam Cameron's FIRST year. Unforunately, Jennings is obviously no Mett so the coaches are trying to do the best with the personnel they have. A very young LSU team took Alabama to overtime. Yes it hurts that we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory but people need to cheer up. The future is BRIGHT for the Tigers.

We had 3 losses after the Bama game also. We couldn't use the "we're young" excuse then so what gives?

Mett has more natural talent.

Yeah.. everyone who says we're young just needs to look at last year when we weren't and temper their expectations.

last year we lost at Athens (by 3), at Oxford (by 3), and at Tuscaloosa (by 14).

and our Defense was young having just lost 7 starters:

Lavar Edwards (only senior)
Sam Montgomery
Kevin Minter
Barkevious Mingo
Eric Reid
Bennie Logan
Tharold Simon
Brad Wing

That is the thing. We are always young on one side or the other due to early departures....just harder when its on offense in this league....but it is also the appeal to a lot of recruits; getting the chance to play early because we need them to. Doubled edged sword...

So is this going to be never ending cycle at LSU? 3 losses and pointing fingers at departures and say we're young? Are we ever going to have a year when we're not young?

That's the problem. Truth is you will be here next year with the same excuse because we lose Collins, Porter possibly Hawkins and/V. Alexander. The OL could be very very young and inexperienced.

Youth can always and will always be an excuse for some.

At what point can we say youth is no longer an excuse and the staff and players be expected to win games and championships with the players we put on the field.

Can we agree that NEXT year is that year. Or will next be wait til NEXT year again?

I really have no idea and anyone who says any different is just guessing. I sure hope so though.

I wasn't trying to use it as an excuse and apologize if it comes off that way. I was just pointing out that for the most part we are always going to be young due to early departures. NFLU has its set backs for sure.

now, last year we replaced 7/11 starters on defense. This year we replaced 7/11 on offense.

Next year we should be replacing about 3-4 on Offense and 3-4 on Defense (this is what most college teams experience).

IDK, man.....just trying to stay positive I suppose...I guess I can understand (potentially) back to back 10-3 seasons with one side of the ball being completely replaced. I will agree that next year should be the year we have stability and should improve.

LSU has a lot of work to do before they are a 3 loss team, at Ark...Lsu is the underdog, at Tam and the bowl game. Now LSU can win all and still be among the elite.

Many of our young fans don't get losing 4, 5, or 6 games. It can happen, look at both UTs, UF, Michigan, USC(e and w),and it goes on and on...just look.

Oh I understand that man. I remember 9 loss seasons. I am not a young fan by any means (sure wish I was; this getting old shite is garbage), but if they team plays with as much heart as the Bama/Ole Miss games I think we can finish strong.
