"I had a want for an explanation, so I asked. A quality individual on the other end of the line said, 'ssshhhh...you'll get your cut' ... then I said, 'That is a DAMN STRONG explanation; have a great day!"

I'm listening on the radio and there is no way I can quote his comments even close. He was speaking in his usual careful, Miles-speak. That is why I'm asking the question - did anyone who heard it interpret it that way?

I get the impression there may even be a public statement in some manner about the officiating. He said he would be more candid with the team and that they would like what he had to say.

Yes. He also seemed very annoyed that the stadium announcers kept telling the fans to stay off the field when the game was still very much competitive.

Miles: spoke by phone with #SEC head of officiating Steve Shaw. Explained mechanics of calls to allow his crew to do better job.

I was too. Borne' must have said it ten times, "please stay off the field after the game." Well, he got his wish.

Q. Coach, in your talks with Steve Shaw were there any other plays that you discussed with him? Specifically the two plays where the flags were picked up?

COACH MILES: We discussed all those plays and the specifics I'm going to try to avoid, but I think he sees it in a way that allows us both to be very comfortable in the how they're operating. I will be more candid with my team than I am here, but, again, I think they will review that in their business internally, and I think we'll all be -- enjoy how they've improved as officials and will continue to.

Q. We would like you to be more candid, you might get fined, but we think you probably can afford it. That's easy for me to say.

COACH MILES: I want to say that I respect the officiating crew that works each and every game, including the one that just worked it, and I know that they are -- they want in in making us the conference, each game the most represented game, the most fair, as straightforward as they can. So I have to be honest with you, I am comfortably going to comply with what would be any good measure of sportsmanship as I review the officials. I think they do generally a great job, and there is a process in place that will correct and amend, and I'm comfortable with that. At this point in time I just want you to know something, I just want you to know, I could bring in, I don't know, 25 calls that we sent in specifically, and I could display them by film and go right through it. What's the score of the game? The one we just played in?

Q. 20-13.

COACH MILES: If that sucker could change, you would see an entirely different guy at the podium. Right now I recognize we finished second to a very quality team. We can do better and that does not leave out the officials.
