Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays Plutarch Heavensbee, tragically died with one week of filming left. The role was not re-cast, but finished with a combination of re-writes, camera tricks and digital special effects.

Plot: 16 year old Katniss Everdeen must now fight against all odds and save a nation moved by her courage.

The first 2 were good so I def will be seeing this. Woody Harrelson is one of my favorite actors. It'll also be interesting to see the camera tricks used & how they re-wrote Hoffman's character differently from the novel due to his death.

Author had no idea how to finish this story. Hopefully the movie takes a few liberties.

I couldn't even get through the last book.

Also, we all love Jennifer Lawrence, but she's playing a character that is 16?

She's 17 about to be 18 in these movies. She just turned 24 IRL. Not that big of a leap really for an actor.

do you watch GOT? all the characters they play are supposed to be around 11-14 years old

That's just HBO changing ages, so they can have nudity.

Dude that plays Jojen is like 25 IRL and in the books he's 13. Probably closer to 15-16 in the show but still a good 10 year difference.

It gets worse at the end. I think I just dumped the information for my brain and imagined it like I thought it should end.

I've never read the books and don't plan to but I do enjoy the movies. if possible without giving any spoilers can you explain what's so horrible about it? everyone that's read it says the same thing about how awful it is.

nevermind then.

I thought it may be possible to give kind of a general answer on what makes it so bad. I guess that's not likely

She can't write a war story, so she resorts to replicating stuff that happens in the arena instead. I can't really think of anything else that isn't a spoiler that I can say. I was angry when I finished the book. The only saving grace was how short it was.

I really don't know either. I've only read the first book. It may be possible to explain, but I've come to realize that people let stuff slip unintentionally.

pumped for this. i think the last movie was about as perfect as could be and have full faith that they will redeem the shite fest that was the 3rd book

so was it good up until the ending? meaning if the movies follow the book can the last 2 movies still be good up until the end of the final one or will the entire final movie suck?

No, it wasn't. But I try to err on the side of caution when it comes to spoilers.

I remember having an argument with a client because I mentioned I read the books and hated the third one. She said that I probably just didn't understand it. Yeah, I couldn't understand a book written for teenage girl. If they follow the 3rd book, I'm sure the fans will love it, but people that aren't will probably hate it.

Mockingjay was terrible & I'm shocked that they're able to stretch it out into 2 movies. I hope they make it different than the book.
