Thunder battling tough against a greatly improved Kings team.

Heat all over the Mavs and the Splash Brothers lightning it up in the desert.

DALLAS -- Mavericks owner Mark Cuban openly wondered Sunday whether it would be in the Oklahoma City Thunder's long-term best interests if superstars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook sat out the rest of the season. Cuban said he would not consider it a breach of NBA integrity if the Thunder essentially bagged this season to improve their odds of winning a title in the near future. "The question I don't think anybody has asked is, why don't they pull a David Robinson and try to get Tim Duncan?" said Cuban, speaking before the Mavericks hosted the Miami Heat.

I was wondering the other day, with all the injuries they've had, would he thunder sit KD and Westbrook the whole season, if they were 5-20 come early to mid December. I guess we will find out in about 4 weeks

Cuban is right. That would be a really smart move.

frick that noise.

This team can still be .500 when the big guns come back.

Literally all their losses have come to playoff teams from last year, and they've been competitive in every game minus the Brooklyn game.

I know I'm a homer, but I truly believe we'll be fine.

I know you guys will be fine. But a Top 2 or 3 pick, and the Thunder are ELITE.

Realistically, how many games will Westbrook and Durant play together?

Looking at the stats, Parsons is blowing some serious arse.

What's his deal?

You're crazy if you think either of those dudes would be willing to do that

This may be a bleasing for the Thunder. Guys like Jackson, Lamb, Jones, Adams ect are getting a chance to develop and gain confidence. They have looked pretty good, now insert KD and Westbrook. They could very well end up being the best team in the West this season. Not record wise, but in terms of talent they could be.

Probably 60 if they come back when expected.

Hopefuly the Thunder will be 10-10.

If they play .700 basketball (what they have averaged with KD/Russ last 3 years), they'll finish with 53 wins. Last year's 4th and 5th seeds finished with 54 wins FWIW. 6th seed had 51.

That's cutting it close.

And that's assuming this current squad will play .500 ball... which is unlikely.

And that's assuming both Westbrook and Durant only miss the first 20 games... which is also the best case scenario I believe.

Then on top of that, you are assuming they will come back and play .700 ball and pick up right where they left off.

They will have both come off of injuries. Not only would they not have played in a while, but they would be getting used to using their healed hand and foot again.

They are probably not going to come back and start playing .700 ball right away.

I'd say 53 wins is unlikely.

Well, Houston and Memphis were the longest unbeatens. They got to 6-0 before losing a game. GSW only made it to 5-0.

Steve Blake just knocked down Kenneth Faried (flop) but it was on purpose.

I would pay money to watch Faried vs Blake holy shite
