Lane Kiffin comes into Tiger Stadium and outcoaches Chavis in the final minutes of the game after not being able to do much of anything all game.

ex 1:

Question is, where are the LSU plays that are deceptive or are designed to fool the other team? Do the coaches just not believe in any sort of creativity at all? no misdirection in the game plans for the most part that we've seen

How can that guy be eligible?

I don't get it. I can see 74 being eligible.

Les does not believe he has the QB to do it. I think it is pretty well understood by now that unless there is a special talent like Mett at QB, there will be no passing between the numbers or within 30 yards of the LOS.

Our idea of creativity is a jennings outside run for 6 yards.

I thought we would call timeout.

We ran this play against Ohio State in the national championship game. It was Dickson' first TD. Great play call.

I question the legality of it for different reasons. First, I think the receiver furthest towards LSU's sideline is off the LOS, giving Bama only 6 men on the line. Second, if you watch the cbs broadcast of this play, the RB off the screen towards Bama's sideline never came set out of the shift. That's an illegal shift. Terrible missed call in that situation by refs who are supposed to be checking those things every play.

Borderline not enough men on the LOS, but that is like traveling in the NBA now. It doesn't really matter.

It is a perfectly legal play

We did the same in years past

I was at the game and haven't had the heart to watch a replay, but I recall being upset at several times last night that they were not getting set after their shifts. Reading your analysis of this play makes me even more mad, because it does look like the bottom receiver is not on the line of scrimmage, giving Bama only 6 men on the line.

that's just being outcoached plain and simple. LSU was fooled. then came the penalty to back them up. what a screwed up game.

watch how quick sims looks off his WR to the right and then looks to the TE streaking wide open. perfectly called play, perfect EXECUTION.

As said above, that's borderline and has to be pretty egregious to get called, so I'm not that upset about the 6 men on the line. The shift is a different story. No way you can allow 4 players to shift without making them come set for 1 second before a snap.

We literally had zero creativity last night. I don't remember one play where we switched things up. What happened to the les that alway came out swinging in big games?

offensive creativity seems like a hassle to the coaches

they don't trust the qb's and the receivers dropped like 6 passes last night

Les has never been creative. It's always been very conservative offense and tough defense. We just had dominant playmakers on defense in years past. This group is coming along nicely though.

he came out swinging on the 4th down play. I don't equate "swinging" with creativity.

Was Hunter supposed to cover him? He doesn't come on the rush and just gives him a matador's ole'. Didn't even jam him or anything. guess he was dropping off in coverage in the flat, but there was no one coming out of the backfield.

Maybe the formation was bad and that guy wasn't set, but it was obvious at the end LSU wasn't going to get the borderline calls, especially after the booth couldn't overturn the Yeldon fumble. Ha. But the coaches needed to take a timeout there.

Brilliant call, but 5 men in the backfield and should be a penalty. Bama tricked the refs and LSU by masking the TE as a tackle and by using 5 wide outs of which 4 were intentionally behind the line of scrimmage. It's the refs job to catch that.

It was a trick play, D got tricked. Not a coordinator on the planet who hasn't been tricked. Not why we lost. We lost because the passing game is abysmal and our kicker pooped the bed
