I'm not really referring to lag or anything like that, I know it depends on connection speed, but how practical is the button layout for most games? If I get a vita, it would pretty much just be for remote play (most of the games made for vita just don't appeal to me). The thing is, how easy is it to really play a game that requires the use of L1/L2 and R1/R2, for instance?

if I wanted to play gtav on the crapper, is it going to be a pain? or is it fairly easy/fun? I've tried to research this, but I see really mixed reviews, so I want to hear from some people here that use the vita for remote play a lot. do developers keep the vita in mind at all when developing a game? The idea of being able to keep playing GTA or Last of us while laying in bed and not having to move my ps4 to my room sounds great

thanks in advance for any help!

I have only used vita in home and as long as your Internet is stable it will work well.

The button layout depends on the developer. I have mostly played destiny with it and they did a good job with it. I wouldn't do pvp with it but a game like GTA will probably be fine.

yea, as of right now i have great internet. my roommate is the cable guy so we have 60down/5up which should be just fine. I am possibly moving out to the country and may have to get satellite so I may have to keep that in mind

word. yea i probably won't be doing much pvp if any, mostly single player games. On my ps4 I have last of us, black flag, and a couple other games i play regularly. I'll be getting bloodborne, Gtav, the new batman game, and maybe far cry 4. I wonder if I could go to gamestop and they would just let me try it or something?

I've only tried single player games with it, but my experiences have been pretty good. That's what I'd use it for.

I play Warframe online on the crapper all the time and it works flawlessly

Staying on the crapper too long will give you hemorrhoids.

Cool. Yea I went ahead and bought one yesterday. Hopefully it will be delivered soon. I got borderlands bundle one. From the research I've done, it seems to work pretty good with single player games which is all I really plan on using it for. Hopefully it just works well with gta and bloodborne, that will make it worth the money alone

One more question. Do you guys use any sort of extra grip to make the trigger buttons easier to use? Also, what are the touch pads on the back generally used for?

Thanks for all the responses btw

some people use these
I haven't, I got used to what it is. Did you get the slim or original oled version?

Touch pads vary. Some games use it for r2/l2. Bungie did a good job of making r2/l2 the front touchpad so it is much more convenient.

I got the slim because I heard the controller layout was easier to use. I know the screen isn't as pretty much I'm more concerned with the ease of the controls

I heard that too. I got a refurbished oled this past summer. I'll be honest, oled looks amazing. Destiny on remote play might actually look better than when I play it on my monitor

I believe it does so I guess I should say home network instead of internet.

wait so you don't need an internet connection to remote play? is it a blue tooth thing?

if I'm not on my home wifi, but am sitting at a starbucks or something with wifi, can you still remote play your ps4? i was under the impression you didn't need both systems to be on the same internet connection

To my knowledge, in home it will use your home network so your router is more important than you isp. At a different location you would have to do it over wifi. I've never done it out of the home to know how well it works.

Word. Do you have any games in particular you like for the vita? Ones made for that system I mean? It just seems like most don't appeal to me, but I'm open for suggestions

Do you like JRPG's? It has a lot of good ones there. I mostly just play the free PS plus games though.

cool, i'll join in on the discussions when I get mine. I have been looking at that freedom wars game, the ign guys have really talked it up, but generally I'm not a big jrpgs, but I haven't played many so hopefully I can learn to like them since I know there are a lot on the vita.

Like i said originally though, as long as it works well for remote play I think it will pay for itself

I'm thinking that dragon age might be a good game to play on it with the slower pace
