How come he isn't considered one of the best running backs ever. I love his physical style

He should be. Dude was incredible. Met him at a Rockets game. Super nice guy. Has to get around in a wheelchair now.

I would say he is. He's definitely among my personal favorites

Because it wasn't consistent or sustainable. Fun to watch, but minimal moves and the guy would get stuffed in today's game.

Laugh all you want, big plodding RB's get shut down in the NFL now.

I can't even respond to this level of stupidity so here is another one..

Earl was not plodding. He was amazingly nimble for a big guy and had good speed. I thought he was considered a top 10 RB.

Lawdy now we got a Bevo fan, sure there's no bias here. Barry Sanders is the only RB from the past that would have any chance in today's NFL, deal with it.

From a style and way he played I would have him behind jim brown if could chose a franchise rb.

WTF?? Campbell was a freak. He's generally regarded as one of the best RBs of all time. Hell, he's generally ranked as one of the top 50 NFL players of all time.

He was ranked #55 on the NFL Network's The Top 100: NFL's Greatest Players.
He's the #11 RB, behind:
Jim Brown
Walter Payton
Barry Sanders
Bronko Nagurski
Gale Sayers
Emmitt Smith
Jim Thorpe
O.J. Simpson
Red Grange
Eric Dickerson

No he wouldn't. He would have been awesome in a lague where the emphasis is on the passing game. He would have had a career twice as long.
Bum Phillips wore him out with his style of play.

Here's something for you to deal with...you're a moron...and a dumb one at that.
RBs like Earl, OJ, Sweetness, Dorsett, Marcus Allen, Dickerson etc etc would all be successful today. Hell...Gale Sayers would be a stud today.

Who are the big plodding running backs today?
And, Campbell is considered one of the best of all time by people whose opinions matter.
