Come on bra, you know I like you.

I didn't like that clown you used to be.

Mark Jackson was fired after a very good year. That should tell you what you need to know. He's a dick that everyone hated working with.

I will root for another team if he becomes coach.

They are healthy this year and should be doing better.

1) Sample size is too small to make much of a judgement either way.
2) They've beaten the teams they were supposed to beat and lost to the ones they were supposed to lose to.
3) While he's far from perfect, if he were being the same old Monty caricature that everyone hates, Ajinca and Salmons would be averaging 15 minutes per game, not 6-7, and we'd be taking 16 3s per game not 20.

Whether he improves enough to let AD take this team to the playoffs remains to be seen. But we are at least seeing some improvements, and anyone who expected this team to be significantly over .500 after 20 games, let alone 4, was fooling themselves. Being more than 1 game or 2 over .500 after 20 will take either a serious run of luck, or AD beasting even more than he already is.

The shooting sucks. The rest of it is alright, it seems, but it is hard to tell when there is such a cloud over this basic aspect of the game. Still, this performance is not inconsistent with better shooting in the long run... Sample size.

Also, the possible Pelicans records thus far are 4-0, 3-1, 2-2, 1-3, 0-4. One game gives a 25% difference in winning percentage. As such, not only sample size but digitization obscures what is happening statistically.

Better to watch the games for a while before using the team's record for anything but an entertaining curio piece.

As far as Mark Jackson goes, keep him.

When you have the 3rd best player in the game, expectations should be higher.

West is loaded hard to be significantly above .500

50 wins would be a great season

In my most optimistic moods, I've suggested we could have a 50-52 win season. But, honestly, I wouldn't complain too much as long as we were above .500, although I doubt a 42 win season is sniffing the playoffs.

It's not that black and white. If healthy I'm expecting them to be above .500 by the end of the season, but between needing time to get roles established and get on the same page, and the fact that the first 20 games of the schedule is moderately difficult, I'm not expecting them to show the are a playoff team until later in the season. The schedule lightens up a bit in January and February. That's when they should make us either start believing or bring back the torches and pitch forks.

If we hire Avery we should just trade AD because we're sealing him leaving.

As much as I want him off of ESPN broadcasts, no. Teams don't fire coaches with winning records for no reason. He's terrible.
