A social media-savvy comedy that was mocked heavily by viewers on social media, Selfie was EW readers’ choice for the most likely first canceled show of the fall. But the comedy starring Karen Gillan and John Cho also had its share of defenders who liked the direction of the show, particularly after its first episode. Through its run, Selfie averaged 4.7 million viewers and 1.5 rating among adults 18-49 (and that includes DVR playback). Now, as one Twitter follower pointed out, if only ABC would cancel the word ‘selfie.’

That was extremely predictable.

I honestly think that the Name of that show is what killed it.

The name definitely put it behind the 8 ball. It made people want to hate it.

It must have been something.

I mean, Karen Gillan and John Cho are two pretty charismatic and likable leads.
The writing must have sucked arse.

Also had this going for it:

Same thing is about to happen with A to Z. Two great leads, but the writing blows. I wanted to like the show.

You can't survive with a name like that. No one will give it a chance including me.

A to Z looked decent, never did watch an episode I just forgot all about it. Wanted to give it a shot for the chick from HIMYM ended up liking her a lot. Guess I never will if it's bad.

The pilot is great. The second episode is okay. The third is good. Then it completely goes off the cliff. They are already repeating the same jokes.

May still start it, I was crushing pretty hard on that girl during HIMYM.

She's so hot, and she almost makes it worth it. I would date this shite out of her. And the male lead was awesome in Mad Men, so I really wanted to like this show.

I wouldnt even say all that. The lead guy is such a wuss. I cant root for the guy. And if i cant root for someone in a love story, whats the point?

Also its soooooooo corny.

I'm rooting for the success of both John Cho and Karen Gillan, but the show is pretty weak (and I liked Suburgatory).

And actually I think they miscast Karen's character. The show had to start with her character being completely self-centered and unlikable, but Karen was too unlikable. It didn't help that she had to fake an American accent. She just sounded too phony. I think the character could have been better cast with someone like Molly Ephraim, who plays the totally self-absorbed daughter on Last Man Standing, yet manages to be somewhat charming at the same time.

Tough break for the two leads. Both of them have some solid comedic chops but after watching a couple of episodes it was obvious the writing just was not there for them to succeed.

Did it air more than a couple of episodes? Fastest hook ever?

It wasn't a bad show. I thought A manhattan love story was actually pretty funny......but it's gone too.

There are a dozen or so shows that only got one episode before getting whacked. That would really be damaging to the old ego there.
