In case you missed it: It's no longer the choice of mike to get in the cage or not. They do not bring him into the stadium because he freaked out last time when the fireworks went off apparently. They don't want him to hurt himself.
I don't understand why they dont just bring him back to his cage 10 mins before kickoff.
Park him by the visitors entrance for pregame. Then make a round of the field before the band does pregame.

Mike isn't coming back in the stadium and the band won't play neck we have to start dealing with it.

Because they are just looking for any excuse to not bring him to the games. They are at the point of saying, "Well, he might get agitated by the crowd, fireworks, clouds, butterflies, etc, so we aren't going to load him up today."

Look I don't want to go all PETA but let's really think about this. Let's shove this beautiful beast in a cage then parade him around over 100,000 screaming lunatics. Yes I am sure he just loves that!
