What have we learned from this election?

Contrary to the claims of the progressive leadership, the following is true about the electorate in the USA today:
1) Gun control isnt going to happen, and people love their guns.
LINK
2) Obamacare is a piece of shite bill and nobody likes it, outside a small group of people and the insurance companies
LINK
3) The AGW cries from kerry and gore, despite actual data proving the models wrong, have been seen as just that, "cries" by the public
LINK
It seems as if the sheep media, regurgitating talking points, may be having less and less of an effect on the electorate.

It seems that the Democrats have learned nothing from this election, given the excuses that are coming out about why they lost.
IMO, Obamacare is the single biggest issue driving these election results. 100% of the candidates that ran on the repeal platform won. How many Senators that voted for Obamacare will be in the Senate in the next session?
Throw in immigration and the lawlessness that it has been handled and all the other numerous controversies and the writing was on the wall.

i agree with your other two but not this. I think this was a casualty of a republican wave, there was some environmental politicking but very little compared to obamacare and guns. at least where I live.

Yet McConnell is all but completely backtracking on the notion that they are really going to try to do anything substantive about it.

of course, the thing is you can't rip out obamacare without addressing flaws in the health care system. And republicans don't have a solution. They just threw eggs at obamacare.
It was a good strategy in 2014, will it work in 2016?

See, I don't buy the notion that you can't until you do.

Do you mean 'flaws in the how and who pays for it' health care system?
Just to clarify.

Many have been proposed. WHY the frick are you so obstinate to not even acknowledge facts?

there are multiple problems, I think the biggest is getting coverage for people with health problems.
But yes, who pays and how needs to be addressed.

I see this talking point repeated over and over again. Just because they don't have your vision of a solution doesn't mean they don't have a solution.
Rolling back the shitty parts of Obamacare is a solution that will improve the lives of millions.

I have to say:
This sounds like there is a room with a wasp nest in it. Otherwise, a pretty good room...but, that damned nest needs to be removed and we don't have a good plan to remove it.
Sooooo....One dude says "I have an idea!" and goes into the room and takes a shite on the floor.
The rest of us say "WTF? We need to get that pile of shite out of there!"
Original dude says "You can't remove that shite until you have a plan for the Wasp nest!"
So, now we have a room with a wasp nest that stinks. But, somehow, the poo has to stay until the wasp nest is planned for.
Silliness

Well, these folks were ALWAYS able to get "health care". The question was how / who pays for it.
Soooo...once again "PAY" for health care is the problem

sure, they have "solutions" but no "solution" nothing that has critical mass, nor is a complete solution. Certainly nothing republicans talk about.
But they are not replacements to obamacare, they don't really provide a broad based solution to address people without coverage.
btw, Republicans also proposed what obamacare was based off of. You see how that worked out don't you?
The reality of the politics, republicans rip out obamacare and replace it with tax credits/regulation changes and suddenly many of the people that suddenly got covered under obamacare have it ripped out, I am guessing many of them will be fricking pissed.
Ripping out obamacare is a great election strategy, but maybe not such a good governing strategy.

They Don't have solutions? Do you want to know how many Amendments to the ACA the house sent Harry that didnt get voted on in the Senate? Or does the truth hurt to much?

Neither did Obama have a solution. That didn't stop them from promising and not delivering.

That's a remarkably accurate, if a little crude way to summarize Obamacare.

This is the problem with you big government types. You really believe a ONE BILL TO RULE THEM ALL solution will work for everyone, at every level, with all the intricacies of the best healthcare system in the world.
It's stupidity on the highest level.
Many solutions together, working in tandem can solve complex problems. One answer bullshite, please!

good god man

Why did we need Obamacare? To get people HC, right? So why did more people lose than gain coverage under it?
You're a fricking sheep repeating talking points that have been proven idiotic and WRONG.

wat? Going the Romeny talking point again? Please tell me you arent this simple minded.

the 7k that got coverage or the 37k+ that have already lost it?
Just wait till next month when that 37k number gets absurdly higher.

i don't think that would go over very well.
I didn't like obamacare when it was passed, I don't like it now.
I just like commenting on political strategy.
