The best governance is very little to no governance and only when it's necessary.

We have enough laws on the books already.

Makes me wonder why so many talking heads complain about gridlock like it is a bad thing.

Actually I want Louisiana to put forth a law banning convicted felons from running for federal office statewide after Edwin Edwards gets his shite pushed in next month

Gotta close that loophole....

They still don't get it. Obama said it was because of low turnout. Reid said the "people want us to work together".

The denial is strong with these Dims.

We Dems got trounced. Happened in 2010 as well. Presidential election years are our times to shine. Wait until 2016 when so many Repub SEnators are up for re-election in many blue states and the turnout is closer to 60% than the 40% that it was yesterday. Hillary Clinton will win the Presidency and the Dems will get the Senate back. The House will remain under Republican rule for some years. 2021 redistricting will be needed to give Dems a fighting shot at controlling the HOuse again.

When Democrats have a big election and win a bunch of seats they say we won and have a mandate, the people have spoke, listen to us and next time win an election and then maybe we will listen to you. When republicans do the same thing dems cry, "low voter turnout", "people want us to work together and compromise" etc etc. it would be humorous if it wasn't so hypoctitical.

Nope. It was a scathing indictment of the ignorant voting public.

After hearing Obama yesterday he clearly doesn't get it or more accurately doesn't care what citizens think. Hopefully he will spend the next two years mucking up the chances of any Democrat being President for a long while.

In one sentence Obama says that he is going to do what is good for America, regardless of what Congress says. In the next sentence he says he knows that he might have to do things even if it's against the wishes of Congress.

So, even though it's against Congress' wishes, which is based on citizen's wishes, Obama just said "frick you the America citizen, I'm doing it my way".

This guy is the poster child of hypocrisy.

The Republicans now control 67 of 98 state legislatures.

The dems control 29.
