Liverpool gets Basel at home but (assumiong Basel wins at home against Ludogorets) Liverpool needs to win against Basel by 2 or more goals and then also win away at Ludogorets.
I agree that they can and likely will do just that but it's a bigger task than just simply beating Basel because Basel would still hold the goal differential lead.
On the other hand, City have a much tougher task. They simply need to beat Bayern at home and Roma away. No draws. Add to that Bayern and Roma are both better than City and it doesn't look too good for them.

Yea I simply don't see that happening for City....I think even at the Etihad expecting much more than a draw against Bayern is probably too lofty......unless they turn some things around obviously.

Its hard to handpick teams out of other leagues and put them into England. The game is officiated so differently domestically than it is in Europe. This has a huge impact on style of play.
