End the Ethanol lie.

Pass Keystone.

Enact an energy policy (cap and scam doesn't count)

Gut the fraud that is the ACA cause it isn't too damn affordable.

Reel in the EPA.

Throw about 75% of the 70,000 page tax code in the trash.

Enact about a 15% tariff on products from China. This would promote US job growth.

Engage in real immigration reform. Across the board amnesty and deportation are both a joke.

Reel in entitlement spending. The dems have used welfare and food stamps as a tit. Time to wean people off of them and help them help themselves.

Stop the militarization of our police force.

Stop encouraging "arab springs" and "regime change." Nothing we've done in the ME in the last 25 years amounts to a thimble full of monkey piss.

That should keep them busy for a few days.

They need to push Rand Paul's platform that he's been selling to blacks and far left true liberals.

NSA reforms and limitations, mandatory minimum sentencing reform, balanced budget amendment, etc.

It's an easy win and would do a lot to get people (the kind that vote in Presidential elections) to see Republicans in a different light. For the record, I have literally never even touched weed in my life.

I agree with a ton of suggestions so far.

One of the main ones I agree with is the Marijuana legalization. One stumbling block to legalization would be Congressmen who fear backlash from their social conservative constituents. An easy fix for this would be just to pass a bill that decriminalizes marijuana on the federal level BUT allows states to determine legality for themselves.

+1. GOP has a great opportunity to show that it is willing to work in a bipartisan fashion and gain momentum going into the Presidential election but it will take passing something that is more progressive to achieve this and change peoples perception. If marijuana is that battle than so be it.

It should be mandatory minimum sentencing reform for non-violent crime first IMO.

It's an easy win.

Then piggy back that with decrimilization at the federal level and end the costly war on drugs.

That alone would be enough to push the Republicans to the White House in 2016.

Yep, and you could always "sunset" it so that people would have another chance to get rid of it in a few years if they didn't like the results.

I just think there are millions of young people out there who are smart enough to know that the Dem economic policies won't work but see the Reps as backwards. The Reps need to correct that or you can kiss all the other "more important" stuff goodbye because you'll never win another Presidential election.

Republicans need to take credit for things that will pass in the near future any way.

They need to push for states rights, which has been a hallmark for conservatives everywhere for centuries.

Let the states decide about marijuana, same sex marriage, etc.

It would take all the wind out of the sails of the dems that portray republicans as out of touch with social issues.

If they do this from 2014-2016 and give Obama bills that he can't veto, they can portray this very well.

Also need to have him veto ACA reforms and they will take the WH in 2016.

Leave this stuff alone. Be smart and talk about issues.

#1 thing I would do is decriminalize marijuana possession. Let O try to veto that.

yea the dem-lite est. repubs and dems alike can agree, don't rock the boat, back to business as usual in DC...

sure, THAT'S what people want....

Jeez.

That is a great example of why the government is so screwed up. We have important issues that might threaten the sovereignty and security of our nation, and all the stoners want is legal weed. Not even a caused rooted in morality like being pro-life, or rooted in compassion like affordable housing, just weed, so they can sit on their couch, get high, and not have to worry about the cops harassing them.

Bunch of selfish, immature a-holes who don't deserve to have a say in who runs this country.

But this is America, where people basically get to vote money out of the pockets of producers and into the pockets of leeches, so I guess we just need to enjoy the decline and reminisce about better days.

Do you understand the cost of the war on drugs and incarceration of these non-violent offenders?

It most certainly needs to be on the top of the list.

Drop in the bucket compared to entitlement reform.

Put down the bud and read a book.

I don't even smoke pot, but entitlement reform isn't happening right now.

It will be vetoed even if it does.

Why is that so hard to understand?

People have been saying that for 30 years as an excuse to not stick their neck out and propose a solution. It's time to get the ball rolling before the clock runs out.

And I could care less about some dumbass who is sitting in jail because he broke the freaking law. I'm 35 and have never been arrested. It's not that freakin' hard. Just don't break the law. If you're not smart enough to handle that, maybe you NEED to be locked up.
