So, Where Does This Leave Obama?

He is obviously a lame duck in many respects, he will not be able to push through any liberal supreme court justices, or other federal judges for that matter. Any legislative agenda he may have had is now gone...his only remaining agenda will be to veto everything the GOP sends up.
So where does this leave him?
Accomplishments:
- Obamacare - it has been a disaster by any objective standard and things will only get worse;
- He did end two wars, though the ME is still as volatile as ever with ISIS, Iran nukes, etc.
- His immigration policies have been horrible and likely will continue to be so;
- Race relations? One could argue that it is as bad as it has been in 30 years.
The American public has voted down his policies in resounding fashion, twice, in midterms. His biggest accomplishment as a president is probably simply being elected twice.
IMO his first phone call this morning should be to Bill Clinton asking for advice on how to end this well, as Clinton did with the GOP congress.

his goal has been to transform the country... he has achieved that somewhat with ACA..
his legacy will end up being ensuring pinko control forever thru executive orders on immigration..

Pinko? Thats Archie Bunker. yes he is a lame dick. He pissed off the right, lost the center and screwed his base.
No gun control
Obama care too weak and step in right direction but we need Universal health care for all Americans
Not going to happen now

Same place he'd have been had the Dems kept control except for lower court judges.

Remember, Obama had to lie to the CBO to get this under a trillion in expense so that his congress had a little cover to cast a vote in its favor. There was no way on earth his congress would have voted for single payer.

Fair enough, so he basically will have an 8 year tenure as president and his only "accomplishment" is the ACA, which was passed without any GOP votes and that was predicated on many lies.

You're delusional. The vote last night was a national mandate stating Obama's politics are wrong and dangerous and you're saying he wasn't progressive enough. For fricks sake man.

He continues to play identity politics and class warfare. It's all he knows. He is an activist at his core. Fundamental transformation, in his mind, truly means he hates, hates "typical middle class America."
He wants to artificially compress the poor and middle class into a mish mash that is homogenized in income to between 40k-150k. That, in his still adolescently, pot addled, idealistic mind, is the true definition of fairness. Of course he and his correct thinking fellow travellers are exempt from the transformation.

He can continue on his current path and refuse to work with republicans, and his legacy will be limited to being the first black president.
He could work with republicans, maybe accomplish something, and be compared to Bill Clinton for the next hundred years.

What prevents the republicans from further eliminating points that can be filibustered?

Executive amnesty.
He will not do it. There are so many moving parts and all the GOP would have to do is not fund his mandate.
What will he do about all of the legal foreign individuals that are in the country legally and working - hoping one day to be a US citizen?
Is he going to give every non-US citizen in the US citizenship by fiat?
If he were to do what is claimed, he would essentially give all living individuals on planet earth US citizenship - because we currently have no way of knowing who is here currently due to no border security.
In so doing, he would in essence, devalue US citizenship to the point of non-existence.
He will issue some bullshite executive orders that are ineffective and then blame the GOP for being racists in not allowing amnesty and citizenship. It has and always will be his MO.

His golf handicap is much improved.
I expect him to do little in what is good for America and start damage control for his future involvement in the private sector while doing everything possible to set up MO for a future Senate run.
And play even more golf.

Interesting. That sounds plausible. I could see her strong-arming him into this by threatening to reveal "secrets".

Where does this leave Obama? Exposed for being the incompetent fraud that he has always been.
As one of his dear friends has said, "The chickens have come home to roost."
A couple of random thoughts:
Regarding the suggestion that Obama call Clinton for advice, it's too late. Clinton started working with Gingrich and the GOP Congress 2 years into his presidency. In fact, that's what saved the Clinton presidency. Obama is in year 6, and is a lame duck. Besides, Obama is not a pragmatist like Clinton was. Obama is the guy who laughed at the GOP leadership for offering to work with him and said, "Elections have consequences." Yes they do, Mr. Obama.
One final point. The most dangerous animal is a wounded animal. Obama has nothing left to lose, so the next 2 years could be a very dangerous time for America. Obama feels like a scorned lover now that his presidency has been repudiated, look for him to open the floodgates regarding EO's and in other ways.
Oh, and you think he's been a racially divisive president so far? You haven't seen the half of it. You have to know who he blames the most for this crushing, humiliating defeat.

It leaves him as a President who tried to "change the country for the better" and failed miserably. He really didn't change much, and the changes he did make are quite possibly for the worse, he was just overmatched and under qualified. Where he really hurt himself is only hiring yes men and nobody he trusted who was willing to tell him his ideas weren't always perfect
