Yes, the House and Senate are both controlled by the lesser of two evils now, but Obama still holds the trump card.... What actually gets done over the next two years?

And don't forget, the Repubs BASHED the Dems for using shady parliamentary procedures in the Senate to pass Obamacare with 51 votes, will the Repubs do the same thing? They don't have a supermajority and 51 votes can only be used for budgetary items (if I remember right).

Gonna be funny to see them become what they hated.... Not that they already aren't as slimy as the Dems.

We NEED corporate tax overhaul. I think this gets to the President's desk, I just wonder if he signs or vetoes.

We NEED immigration reform. I don't know how far this gets, especially in the Senate and the repubs not having the super majority.

Only as it relates to Obamacare.

Agree, but I'm talking in the grand scheme of things. Obama still holds the trump card. Now comes 2016, there could be some major changes if a Dem isn't in the WH, but I think the next 2yrs will be just as bad of a clusterfrick as the past 6.

Yup, the reason that I won't vote for a Repub.... The fact that they are continuously elected as the leaders is sickening

You might be right but if it is, it will now be deemed the president of NO instead of the party of NO. The Reps will do all they can to get bills to Obama's desk to see how willing Obama is to compromise.

Agree... Whereas Reid was protecting his members from not having to go on record with a vote, Obama will now be put in the awkward position of having to choose what to do. Although, he's not up for reelection, so I don't know how much it really matters to the Dems. They will play up the "Those evil Repubs took it out on Obama... But he's not up for reelection, so our new candidate will be perfect"

If this were the staus quo for the past 6 years, we'd not have the ACA in effect.

I am for gridlock. When the alternative is the fricktarded Senate of Harry Reid, then this is a WIN.

I do not let perfect be the enemy of good. This outcome is good.

MAYBE, something actually gets done when the arrogance is tamped down. Perhaps DEMS in other areas that will face election at the next cycle will insist that there be a more cooperative approach to issues.

But, even if the ONLY thing that changes is a different douche is in control of gridlock....I celebrate the change of douche-water

Seeing as to how Obama has no love for Clinton he could possibly just say to hell with and veto practically everything coming his way not taking the fate of the Dems into account. He has the type personality to do that.

This may be the worst thing to happen. I don't know why Ted Cruz-type republicans think this is a good idea.

This is the opportunity for Rand and Ted to put forth their vision for America, and gives them a stepping stone for their presidential platform for 2016.

They know Obama will veto anything, but Hillary will have to go on record for whatever policy they propose.

I'm hoping Rand teams up with Cory Booker and they pen incarceration reform.

Nothing, nothing ever changes.

All these good job American post are hilarious. Before we know the Republicans will be kicked right back out by voters.

The Liberals are all now omg whats this country coming to like the Conservatives acted like after Obama was elected. Now the roles are switched and will go back and forth.

We'll see. I think the Reps are smart enough, because of the infusion of younger blood into the party, to realize that this is their two minute football drill. If they want a chance in 2016 to take back the WH they know every move they make will be under the microscope. One or two bad moves by them and everything that happened last night will be for naught.
