Flaming Lips "With a Little Help from My Fwends" -Sgt Pepper tribute cover album

Anyone listened to this yet? It is a cover of the Sgt. Pepper album in its entirety.
I am a big Beatles fan and I am all for a cover album that pays tribute to a classic, especially when an artist from a different genre puts their own kind of twist on it. That being said, I have found this album to be virtually unlistenable. I mean that quite literally, as the album uses lots of electronic sounds that collide together during the songs and create grating shrieking sounds. I have tried giving it a few listens, as I generally like the Flaming Lips, but this really was a disappointment, in my humble opinion. It never really grew on me. It is really saying something when the best part of an album is Miley Cyrus singing. She provides vocals on Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and FWIW her voice isn't that bad for the song, her vocals add to the dream-like state of the song.
There are a few points that sounded kind of cool where the use of modern mixing techniques and musical styles really works well with the trippy nature of the album, but overall a pretty big letdown in my opinion.
Streaming on Spotify if you are interested.

I maybe would like it if I took LSD through my eyes and buttchugged liquidated bath salts.

They really need to just go away. Wayne Coyne is insufferable.

his last album The Terror was the same way.. upon downloading it and trying to listen to it, I immediately deleted it.. His music just sounds like a bunch of noise to me now

The Flaming Lips haven't done anything worth listening to since Yoshimi

They'll always get a pass in my book on account of Soft Bulletin.
