How old can a post be before it becomes too old to bump?

I got an angry PM about bumping a relevant "old" thread about a rookie NBA player and a college radio host.
I thought old posts were anchored and anything else was fair game.

I believe a thread is auto-locked after 6 months with no new posts. Not sure about any unwritten rules.

You can't bump threads that paint any LA based sports team in a bad light.
