Could we get a bump in the rankings tonight due to playing bama this sat?

I think this is possibly. Most of the time teams don't move much during a bye week. Never know, the committee may be some gump lovers and want to give Bama a little bump. Nobody outside Louisiana is giving us any shot at all.

I think if anything we get a bump cause teams like Wisconsin have looked better, Ole Miss played Aub very hard, and everyone realizes how hard it is to play all these top teams and go undefeated.

I think Ole Miss got a bump to improve TV ratings, and I think we'll see the same thing.

Why we're rankings teams this early, if for any reason other than to help journalists hype games, is beyond me.

The college football playoff selection committee have no connection to ESPN, CBS, ABC or the likes......

It is utterly stupid to think that a group selected to pick the best teams with 0 media connection would do something like this.

this is true but I am more brushing on the lines of we obviously can see they don't think we are that great. fine. but if a voter really likes bama he/she may give our ranking a bump to make bama look better if they were to beat us. which won't happen.

I'll start worrying about where we're ranked next week. Regardless of where we end up this week, beating Bama would give us a huge boost. Barring some national craziness, I still think we need to win the SEC to get in to the playoff.

For Ole Miss, they looked at their entire body of work rather than their last game. I thought it was refreshing. They had one of the best wins in football this year with their victory over Bama and their only loss was a close game to LSU on the road....

They didn't get a TV bump, they just looked at their overall body of work and decided that they were a reasonable pick as the 4th best team.

Well at what point do people look at what we are doing now rather than what we were early on. I'll wait to see where we are after victory

You never know it is a possibility. I'm really not too interested in the rankings this early. I'm more worried about lsu focusing on winning out. Thats the biggest step to us moving up.
