Recently inherited a Grundig table radio. Best that I can tell it was purchased in West Germany in the late 50's by my uncle.

It is in good condition and does work, but is in need of some reconditioning.

Any recommendations on a shop in the Southeast La. that could look at it and make necessary repairs? It is a vacuum tube radio and I know that people that repair this type of radio may be few and far between.

I didn't have much luck with the Google and thought that asking here would be more effective since the old guys that do this kind of work may not be listed in the Google. TIA

Richard Gray at National TV repair on Jefferson Highway across from Oschner Hospital. Don't let the run down building fool you--he repairs audio gear for the extreme high end audiophiles in New Orleans and is a wizard with electronics.

Thanks, this sounds like a guy I need to talk to.

Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.

Also---google "Richard Gray's Power Company"...he designs power conditioners and power regenerators for high end audio. Should give you a little insight into Richard's capabilities.

He also has tube testers and a plethora of new vacuum tubes on hand.

Check with the local Amateur Radio club. They're into that sort of thing and will probably know someone.

Thanks so much for the information. I will certainly give him a call tomorrow.
